Requirements

High school diploma or GED Certification.
Some education, training, and/or experience in a related area.
A sincere desire to provide direct service to individuals with developmental disabilities.
The ability to make sound judgments when given guidance and priorities.
The ability to work as a team member to maintain consistency and quality in programming.
The ability to exchange support, constructive criticism, and ideas with other staff members.
Be responsible, reliable, and able to carry out job functions without direct supervision.

Responsibilities

Coordination of finances of persons served, recreation, program services, family involvement, education/vocational programs, healthcare/nutrition and household management.
Assist in maintaining consistency in programming and care of persons served.
Ensure communication with staff and interdisciplinary team members.
Carry out the responsibilities and duties of the habilitation training specialist during all direct care shifts.
Act as back-up to cover shifts in the event of an unexpected absence of staff.
