Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED Certification.
  • Some education, training, and/or experience in a related area.
  • A sincere desire to provide direct service to individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • The ability to make sound judgments when given guidance and priorities.
  • The ability to work as a team member to maintain consistency and quality in programming.
  • The ability to exchange support, constructive criticism, and ideas with other staff members.
  • Be responsible, reliable, and able to carry out job functions without direct supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Coordination of finances of persons served, recreation, program services, family involvement, education/vocational programs, healthcare/nutrition and household management.
  • Assist in maintaining consistency in programming and care of persons served.
  • Ensure communication with staff and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Carry out the responsibilities and duties of the habilitation training specialist during all direct care shifts.
  • Act as back-up to cover shifts in the event of an unexpected absence of staff.
