About The Position

Arcxis is seeking Mechanical designers and engineers with a wide range of experience who are skilled primarily in single-family detached Residential HVAC design and Engineering. This includes performing Manual J, S, D HVAC design, as well as designing duct layouts in AutoCAD by integrating with our in-house frame designs in accordance with ACCA and IRC standards. Mechanical Designers and Engineers collaborate and partner across all disciplines to ensure the highest level of cross-disciplined design integration for a one stop shop solution to our partners residential design needs.

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent comparative experience.
  • Mechanical Design experience with various cooling systems, VRF systems, ventilation, and exhaust systems.
  • Mechanical Design experience with mid-rise multifamily buildings, mixed use buildings, residential and enclosed parking garages.

  • Wrightsoft
  • Elite
  • The ability to read blueprints
  • Compute dimensions from architectural plans
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work well with other engineers/designers
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Code Knowledge: Energy and building code compliance for mechanical systems
  • Fluent in California Title 24
  • IRC Residential Codes

  • Uniform building codes
  • Drive deadlines in dynamic and fast-moving environments.
  • Team players with exceptional interpersonal skills at all organizational levels.

  • Strong computer skills (i.e. Microsoft word, Excel, Bluebeam, etc…)

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years’ experience in Mechanical Design for residential building systems, code compliance, and construction.

Responsibilities

  • Produce Manual J, S, and D calculation and designs using Wrightsoft.
  • Create final construction documents in AutoCAD.
  • Perform Mechanical HVAC engineering and design of single- and multi-family, low- and high-rise residential HVAC systems.
  • Generate detailed mechanical design drawings in AutoCAD for construction documentation of mechanical systems for bidding and construction.
  • Prepare Construction Documents in AutoCAD.
  • Work with design staff and drafters to complete projects.
