About The Position

Mariah's Family Care Home (MFCH) works with people with mental and behavioral disabilities, developing personalized support plans that encourage independence with the support of dedicated staff. The Residential Manager is responsible for overseeing activities, funds, and schedules for two home locations, ensuring all residents are properly managed and cared for. This is a Full-Time position requiring a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and availability for emergencies or staff call-offs.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
  • 3-5 years experience working in a residential setting
  • 1-2 years management experience
  • Valid Driver's License
  • 21 years or older
  • Must possess a reliable vehicle, in safe/operable condition with current registration and insurance
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations governing the operations of group homes for developmentally disabled individuals
  • Ability to oversee the operations of assigned personnel
  • Ability to follow and enforce personnel policies and rules of the organization
  • Ability to maintain both client and company confidentiality
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations 24 hours a day
  • Excellent communication skills; both oral and written

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and train assigned staff, ensuring a positive work environment, effective communication, and excellent job performance.
  • Provide regular supervision, complete performance evaluations, development plans, and handle disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure all job duties are completed by staff, including 3rd Shift Checks.
  • Supervise staff training and development, acting as a role model and guiding staff on interacting with residents, staff, families, and guardians.
  • Present and implement company policies and procedures.
  • Handle employee call-offs and relay information to the Program Director.
  • Fill open shifts, call-offs, and vacation/personal time requests.
  • Attend manager, supervisory, and staff meetings, disseminating information.
  • Attend job-related trainings or seminars and complete necessary follow-up.
  • Conduct new employee house orientation.
  • Participate in ISP/BSP reviews and/or medication reviews.
  • Support special events for residents.
  • Ensure all weekly and monthly paperwork, employee forms, resident forms/reports, and incident reports are completed accurately.
  • Oversee resident schedules and weekly appointments.
  • Maintain required records, including resident profiles and medical histories.
  • Manage vehicle and house maintenance checklists.
  • Write/Update ISP/BSP.
  • Create activity schedules and recreational activities for clients.
  • Manage and track supply and food inventory.
  • Schedule staff.
  • Manage, track, and document Activity funds and resident petty cash.
  • Handle gas and vehicle maintenance.
  • Shop for supplies and food.
  • Minimize overtime through shift coverage, problem-solving, and planning.
  • Oversee maintenance of physical homes and vehicles, including cleanliness, décor, safety, and emergency situations.
  • Practice preventative maintenance and ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Oversee monthly house checks to address maintenance issues.
  • Perform semi-annual fire drills.
  • Ensure quality services are provided to residents.
  • Handle all emergencies that may arise in the home.
  • Maintain frequent and adequate communication with the Program Director and Licensee, relaying all pertinent information.
  • Maintain open communication between all involved team members.
  • Accept other duties as assigned.
  • Carry out all duties required by Direct Care Staff, including personal hygiene, medication administration, daily household chores, and community support.
