About The Position

Under general supervision, the Residential Manager oversees the daily operation of a residential program serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position supervises residential staff, ensures compliance with regulatory standards, supports implementation of individualized service plans, promotes quality care and community integration, and maintains a safe, healthy, person-centered living environment. The Residential Manager provides leadership and coordination of services while ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of residents.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations governing residential and developmental disability services.

  • Knowledge of budgeting, resource allocation, and financial oversight principles.
  • Knowledge of supervision, coaching, training, and performance management techniques.

  • Ability to observe, assess, and monitor resident behavior and functioning.

  • Ability to provide training, instruction, and orientation services to residents and staff.
  • Ability to participate effectively in service planning meetings and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to complete evaluations and monitor resident functional outcomes.

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent and three (3) years of experience providing social, residential, or direct care services to individuals with special needs in a human services setting; OR Associate degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and two (2) years of related experience; OR Bachelor’s degree in a related field and one (1) year of related experience; OR One (1) year of experience at a lower-level position within the organization meeting advancement requirements.
  • Valid Georgia driver's license required.
  • Upon appointment to the position, the employee assumes responsibility for meeting and maintaining all minimum qualification requirements, including applicable certifications, licenses, continuing education, competency validations, and mandatory annual or recurrent training.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises, schedules, and plans work activities of assigned residential staff.
  • Ensures all required employee training, certifications, competency validations, and documentation remain current.
  • Manages employee relations, staffing, scheduling, coaching, and performance management activities.
  • Coordinates and facilitates access to medical, behavioral health, and support services for residents.
  • Assists with the development, implementation, and monitoring of individualized service and treatment plans.
  • Monitors exceptional rate and specialized service plans to ensure compliance with staffing and service requirements.
  • Maintains communication with program leadership to ensure appropriate supports and services are available.
  • Provides support to residents and families during periods of illness, crisis, transition, or family disruption.
  • Counsels and assists residents with daily decision-making, problem-solving, and independent living skills.
  • Instructs residents individually and in groups regarding daily living activities and life skills development.
  • Observes and documents resident behaviors, progress, concerns, and service outcomes.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary meetings, case reviews, and service planning activities.
  • Performs or oversees household management activities including cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and errands.
  • Plans, coordinates, and conducts staff training and in-service activities.
  • Assists residents with meal planning, grocery shopping, food preparation, and nutritional needs.
  • Maintains records of resident progress and services provided and reports changes in condition promptly.
  • Provides transportation for residents to appointments, activities, employment, community events, and services.
  • Ensures compliance with agency policies regarding medication administration and self-administration assistance.
  • Maintains compliance with work schedules, attendance requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Maintains a safe, healthy, supportive, and person-centered residential environment.
  • Reports safety concerns, incidents, and environmental hazards promptly.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
  • Provides oversight of residential program operations.
  • Supervises residential staff and monitors service delivery.
  • Supports implementation of individualized service plans.
  • Ensures resident health, safety, and welfare.
  • Coordinates transportation, medical appointments, and community activities.
  • Maintains compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
  • Monitors household operations and residential environment standards.
  • Provides training and support to staff and residents.
