About The Position

The Residential Manager (RM) will directly supervise Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) assigned to the Residential Services Department. The RM will ensure the DSPs follow ILC’s policies and all applicable laws. The RM supports people in ILC services with residential living skills. The RM supports people in ILC services with regularly scheduled habilitative and meaningful activities in the home and in the community. This will occur at the individual’s home or in the community. This involves implementing and following the individual’s programs for cleaning, shopping, menus, cooking, exercising, social events, etc.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 20 years of age.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and two years’ experience in the developmental disabilities field.
  • Successfully complete and pass all required registry and background checks.
  • CPR certification
  • First aid certification
  • Medication Aide license
  • Valid driver's license
  • Food Handler’s Permit (Depending on community business contracts)
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or ILC Polices.
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, guardians, Service Coordination, and the general public.
  • Ability to foster relationships with others or develop and foster professional relationships with businesses and families.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Knowledge of email software, word processing software; spreadsheet software, payroll systems, and Therap software.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Responsibilities

  • Work directs support hours – Number of hours depending on caseload size and if there is an Assistant Manager, etc.
  • Maintains a flexible work schedule. This position may require evening and weekend hours.
  • Remains on-call for staff and directly supervises them Monday through Friday for questions, concerns, and any emergency or medical situations.
  • Rotates on-call during weekends and/or holidays as assigned.
  • Creates and submits a monthly master schedule for approval by the 15th of the month and resolves/schedules open shifts, as needed.
  • Manage employees effectively, consistently, and fairly.
  • Trains and completes the Person-Centered Training (PCT) packet prior to DSP working alone.
  • Works, at minimum, the first two shifts with a new employee to train staff to be successful.
  • Ensures the Training Department receives training documents.
  • Responsible for writing programs and completing assessments, activities, goals, etc.
  • Attends and/or facilitates meetings for employees, managers and participates in Welcoming, as assigned.
  • Participates in area and all agency management meetings.
  • Completes regular office paperwork such as financial management, including Quicken, filing, individual Therap reviews, data checks, and expense reports.
  • Ensures the location(s) are neat, clean, and orderly at all times and meets OSHA standards.
  • Oversee the use of the grocery money, food, and menus.
  • Completes expense reports on time.
  • Accurately completes billing and attendance per ILC timelines.
  • Ensures programs and activities are being followed, implemented, and updated correctly for each individual at minimum once per month.
  • Completes Treatment Integrity Audits after new programs start and with new DSPs/Job Coaches on QIS 2.0.
  • Ensure Consents, Rights/Due Process form for each individual are up to date.
  • Reads, responds to, and follows up on daily logs and GERs and SCOMM communication to staff.
  • Responsible for supporting individuals in making doctor’s appointments and/or supporting them in lining up transportation, completing paperwork, and follow-up per the ISP.
  • Supports individuals to utilize the community for personal or recreational activities per the ISP.
  • Supports individuals with gaining independent living skills at their place of residence, which may include supporting the person in the following tasks: organization, cleaning, cooking, shopping, errands, planning, navigating their community, safety skills, etc.
  • Completes performance evaluations with DSPs per established timelines.
  • Provides employees with performance feedback and enters journals in a timely manner, as needed.
  • Completes payroll, including timecard adjustments, mileage, and time off request approvals per established timelines.
  • Attends school meetings for individuals supported.
  • Ensures regular and routine contact with Service Coordination and guardians.
  • Attends and prepares for ISP meetings.
  • Follows through with changes that were made in the ISP meeting.
  • Meets with supervisor to discuss Job Expectations and other issues, ISP information, etc. a minimum of monthly.
  • Meets regularly with DSPs to discuss their performance and any information about individuals supported.
  • Performs any other tasks assigned.
  • Directly supervises up to 15 employees.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Trains employees, planning, assigning, and directing work.
  • Appraises performance.
  • Rewards and will coach employees.
  • Addresses complaints and resolves problems.
