About The Position

We are hiring a Residential Maintenance Technician! We have been managing rental property in Chicagoland since 2003. Today we handle more than 1,500 units for over 500 investors across more than 100 villages, and we are still adding doors. That means steady work year round, a full schedule every week, and a company that has been doing this for over 20 years and is not slowing down. As a Maintenance Technician, you'll be completing 4–5 work orders per day, starting from your home and finishing back at your home at the end of the day. You'll troubleshoot and repair multi-trade areas like plumbing, tile work, painting, electrical, carpentry, HVAC filters, appliance issues, and more across scattered‑site residential properties.

Requirements

• 5+ years in residential maintenance, with formal training through an apprenticeship or vocational program
• Real working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, drywall, and general repair
• Ability to diagnose the actual cause and complete the repair correctly on the first visit
• Familiarity with residential code
• Expert command of hand, power, and specialty tools
• Own your own basic set of tools
• Valid Illinois driver's license, clean driving record
• Own insured working vehicle
• Active I-PASS
• Comfort working off a smartphone and tablet
• Physical ability to lift 30+ pounds, climb stairs and ladders, work in crawl spaces, and stay on your feet all day in Chicago weather
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background screening

Nice To Haves

• 8+ years in the trade
• Scattered site rental property repair experience
• EPA, OSHA 10 or 30, general contractor, or handyman license

Responsibilities

• Completing 4-5 work orders per day
• Troubleshooting and repairing multi-trade areas like plumbing, tile work, painting, electrical, carpentry, HVAC filters, appliance issues, and more across scattered-site residential properties
• Diagnosing issues and completing repairs correctly on the first visit
• Communicating with dispatch before leaving a job site when a job goes sideways
