As ABC’s Residential Lawn Service Manager, you will perform service duties, supervises and coordinates the activities of our Land Maintenance Specialists. Oversees all services provided by Specialists in the department and ensures proper completion of scheduled work. Ensures customer satisfaction by making sure that the service contract is followed and services are completed accordingly. A Service Manager has the opportunity to make a difference in his employees’ productivity and employment satisfaction by guiding them and providing supports that will help develop the full professional potential of every individual employee.

Requirements

  • Must hold a valid driver's license with an issue date of at least five years prior to the date of this application.
  • 3-5 years of residential lawn maintenance management experience.
  • Ability to use and navigate electronic tablet/phone, etc.
  • Computer skills; basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time in extreme temperatures including outdoors.
  • Repetitive lifting, twisting, pulling, pushing and carrying up to 50 lbs. may be required.
  • Ability to handle and climb a 10 feet ladder.
  • Five consecutive (current and most recent) years of verifiable good driving history.
  • Any DWI/DUI within the past four years may impact eligibility for employment.

  • Must be able to communicate with members at all levels of the organization and customers.
  • Ability to forecast work seasons and personnel needs.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to organize department work flow and create solutions for production and administrative problems.
  • Dependable and self-motivated with desire to work year-round.
  • High school diploma or GED is desired.
  • Some travel may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform service duties, supervise and coordinate the activities of Land Maintenance Specialists.
  • Oversee all services provided by Specialists in the department and ensure proper completion of scheduled work.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by making sure that the service contract is followed and services are completed accordingly.
  • Make recommendations to improve operations, set goals, and plan/coordinate work flow to achieve company and department goals.
  • Respond to customer service complaints by phone, email, or in person, answer troubleshooting calls, and resolve complex problems.
  • Conduct personnel interviews and hire potential employees.
  • Review QA inspection reports and correct improper techniques to improve efficiency.
  • Plan and recommend proper solutions to resolve persistent land maintenance problems.
  • Prepare write-ups, counsel employees, and contribute to specialist development, coaching, and training.
  • Approve timesheets and PTO requests in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all commission sheets are accurate and submit to payroll.
  • Prepare vehicles for new hires or transfers, monitor drive cams, and ride with new employees to assess readiness.
  • Manage employee conflict and resolve work problems, escalating to management or HR when necessary.
  • Take inventory and plan for future demand and replacement of equipment.
  • Remain knowledgeable regarding company policies and procedures and communicate them to employees.
  • Assign all equipment to new hires and account for returned equipment.
  • Enforce all safety regulations and company policies and procedures.
  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate employees to achieve goals.
  • Report unusual or extraordinary circumstances regarding customer properties.
  • Maintain required property uniform and ensure professional appearance and attitude for all service personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned.
