About The Position

The Residential Intake & Referral Specialist serves as a direct care member of the Crisis Center team while coordinating referrals, admissions, and intake activities during normal business hours. As an in-ratio staff member, this position provides supervision, support, crisis intervention, and engagement to youth residing in the shelter while helping ensure timely access to Crisis Center services. The Residential Intake & Referral Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for referrals and admissions during normal business hours. This position is responsible for managing referrals, conducting client screenings, coordinating admissions, assisting with intake documentation, maintaining communication with referral sources, supporting census management, completing post-discharge follow-up calls, and ensuring timely and accurate documentation. The Intake & Referral Specialist collaborates with the Program Manager, Crisis Center Supervisor, Team Leaders, Residential Staff, Youth Outreach Navigator, agency programs, and community partners to support coordinated access to services, effective client transitions, and positive outcomes for youth. This position develops and maintains relationships with referral partners, including DSS, schools, hospitals, behavioral health providers, law enforcement, and community organizations, and participates in staff meetings, trainings, committees, and agency initiatives as assigned.
