About The Position

This role involves assessing residential garage door installation and service needs, performing installations and repairs, ensuring compliance with codes and standards, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The installer will communicate with customers and supervisors, manage inventory, and complete various tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to assess residential garage door installation and service requirements.
  • Proficiency in installing residential garage doors, openers, springs, tracks, cables, hinges, locks, and related hardware.
  • Skill in performing service and diagnostic work on residential garage door systems.
  • Capability to complete minor framing, construction adjustments, and modifications.
  • Knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and company quality standards.
  • Ability to maintain detailed records of work performed.
  • Competence in loading, unloading, inspecting, and preparing tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Skill in keeping work vehicles and job sites clean and organized.
  • Ability to manage vehicle inventory.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and explaining processes.
  • Adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Assess residential garage door installation and service requirements by evaluating site conditions, equipment needs, and potential construction modifications or obstructions prior to starting each job.
  • Document the full scope of work, including any additional services or adjustments needed, and communicate these with the Salesperson and/or Scheduling Supervisor for approval.
  • Install residential garage doors, openers, springs, tracks, cables, hinges, locks, and related hardware in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company standards.
  • Perform service and diagnostic work on a wide range of residential garage door systems, including rolling steel doors, torsion springs, and dock equipment.
  • Complete minor framing, construction adjustments, and modifications to support accurate and secure installations.
  • Ensure all work complies with local building codes, safety regulations, and company quality standards.
  • Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and job completion status.
  • Load, unload, inspect, and prepare all necessary tools, equipment, and materials for daily assignments.
  • Keep work vehicles and job sites clean, organized, and well-maintained.
  • Manage vehicle inventory to ensure adequate parts and supplies are available for service and installation jobs.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, explaining installation and repair processes and addressing questions or concerns.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
  • Complete special assignments or tasks assigned by their supervisor.
