About The Position

H. E. Neumann Company, a prominent mechanical service contractor serving West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania since 1924, seeks a qualified candidate for the position of a Lead HVAC Installer in Wheeling, WV. As a Lead Installer, you will be responsible for overseeing residential HVAC installations from start to finish while ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to company and industry standards.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of residential HVAC installation experience, preferably with lead or supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of residential heating and cooling systems.
  • Experience installing furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers, and related HVAC equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, installation instructions, and equipment specifications.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively leading and communicating with a crew.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift HVAC equipment and materials and perform physical work, including standing, bending, climbing, and working in attics, crawl spaces, and other confined areas.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and residential jobsite conditions.

Nice To Haves

  • EPA 608 certification.
  • HVAC trade school or technical training.
  • Previous experience leading residential installation crews.
  • Experience with heat pumps and high-efficiency HVAC systems.
  • Knowledge of local residential HVAC codes and permitting requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform residential HVAC system installations, replacements, and changeouts.
  • Install and connect furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers, ductwork, thermostats, and related HVAC equipment.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the installation crew while on the jobsite.
  • Read and interpret installation specifications, equipment manuals, and job requirements.
  • Ensure installations are completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable codes and company standards.
  • Properly size, lay out, install, and modify ductwork as needed.
  • Complete refrigerant piping, electrical connections, condensate drains, flue systems, and other components associated with HVAC installations.
  • Start up and test newly installed equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Identify and resolve installation issues and troubleshoot equipment when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Train, mentor, and provide direction to HVAC helpers and less-experienced installers.
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners and address questions or concerns regarding the installation.
  • Coordinate with the installation team, service technicians, project managers, and other team members to ensure successful project completion.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow all required safety procedures.
  • Represent H.E. Neumann professionally while working in customers' homes.
