About The Position

Horizon is seeking a Residential Facility Cook to join their team. This role involves preparing meals for patients, prepping items for later service, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment. The cook will adhere to safe food handling procedures, maintain documentation, and provide excellent customer service. This position requires adaptability in a fast-paced environment and the ability to follow a four-week cycle menu with creative seasonal modifications. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Two or more years of cooking experience in hospital or clinical setting, long-term care setting, restaurant setting or similar facility
Weekend and holiday availability
Stationary posture, alternating between standing and sitting
Mobility required with repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movements
Occasionally lifting objects up to 50 pounds
Frequent use of kitchen tools and appliances

Responsibilities

Prepare meals for patients and prep items for later service
Attend to appearance, quality, and proper portioning of all menu items
Maintain a clean and safe working environment, keeping equipment in clean and proper working order
Adhere to FDA, USDA, State, and County safe food handling procedures
Maintain proper documentation of temperatures, meal counts, and production sheets
Project a positive attitude and exemplary customer service when interacting with patients
Clearly and effectively communicate with coworkers and patients
Demonstrate the ability to work and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
Follow a four-week cycle menu and creatively assist in seasonal modifications
