About The Position

The Residential Driver safely operates a collection truck, provides prompt and courteous customer service, and collects and disposes of residential waste and recyclables in accordance with company policies and procedures. The role is responsible for safe, timely collection on assigned routes and schedules, with minimal supervision. Local travel is required; overnight travel is not required.

Requirements

• Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety procedures.
• Ability to operate heavy-duty trucks and related equipment.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to read and interpret route sheets and maps.
• Basic familiarity with mobile devices such as tablets or route-tracking apps.
• Ability to enter service notes and complete route information electronically.
• Comfort using handheld scanners, GPS applications, and other digital tools as required by operations.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid CDL Class B license with air brake endorsement.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of commercial driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate a residential collection truck safely and efficiently.
• Collect waste and recyclables from residential customers on assigned routes.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Communicate with dispatch and route supervisors about issues or delays.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and safety.
• Follow safety guidelines and DOT regulations.
• Provide excellent customer service and resolve customer concerns when necessary.
• Follow assigned routes and schedules.
