About The Position

As the Residential Home Design Leader, you’ll oversee the full design process while leading a team and ensuring an exceptional customer experience from start to finish. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in residential home design
  • Proficiency in CAD, SoftPlan, Chief Architect, or Revit
  • Strong understanding of residential construction methods and building codes (Wisconsin UDC)
  • Proven leadership and team management experience
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and customer relationship skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven experience with a comprehensive portfolio of residential home designs from concept through final construction

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the design team
  • Recruit, hire, and coach new design team members
  • Conduct performance reviews and counsel designers to support professional growth and accountability
  • Serve as the first point of contact for all residential home design inquiries
  • Conduct consultations to qualify clients and establish budgets
  • Lead client meetings (virtual or in-person) to gather design goals and fill in any planning gaps
  • Promote internal material sales (lumber, windows, trusses, etc.) and track full-package eligibility for design fee refunds
  • Maintain and manage the active design project log and assign projects to team designers
  • Evaluate customer satisfaction and adjust team workflows as needed
  • Maintain accountability for the accuracy and completeness of customer intake forms and credit application processes.
  • Ensure final plans, print deliverables, and digital files meet established quality, technical, and customer requirements.
  • Provide oversight of workflow execution and coordinate resolution of process or delivery issues to ensure timely completion.
  • Track designer hours for billing and send invoices for site visits and extra revisions
