About The Position

Riverside Community Care is seeking a dedicated Residential Counselor to join our growing organization. In this role, you will provide person-centered supports to individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, autism, or acquired brain injury. Your goal will be to help each person learn daily living skills, build meaningful relationships, and become a valued member of their community. You will be part of a supportive team that assists individuals in maintaining their physical and emotional health, fostering relationships, developing independence, and participating in community activities. The role involves support, supervision, coaching, and companionship, with every interaction rooted in respect for each individual’s uniqueness. You will encourage residents to identify their strengths, explore new opportunities, and actualize their hopes and dreams. Our residences are in welcoming neighborhood settings, typically housing 3-5 people with private bedrooms and shared living spaces. Staff provide ongoing guidance and support, and are available 24/7 with schedules tailored to meet resident needs. Every shift offers the chance to build relationships, see progress, and be part of something meaningful.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license required
• High school degree or equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Maintain residents' physical and emotional health and help them live safely in the community.
• Foster relationships with housemates, family members, and neighbors.
• Develop and practice skills that increase independence, confidence, and self-determination.
• Support residents in participating in community activities, work, and volunteer opportunities that reflect their goals and interests.
• Provide support, supervision, coaching, and companionship.
• Encourage residents to identify their strengths, explore new opportunities, and actualize their hopes and dreams.
• Provide ongoing guidance and support to residents in their homes.
