About The Position

Three Rivers Midlands is seeking a dynamic and talented Per Diem Residential Counselor for the 2nd Shift. Three Rivers Midlands is a comprehensive behavioral health facility that provides residential and Rehabilitative Behavioral Health Services (RBH) to children and adolescents aged 11-18. The facility treats a wide range of psychiatric issues, addictive behaviors, and chemical dependency-related illnesses. The Residential Counselor (RC) is an integral part of the residential and clinical treatment team, working closely with all members to ensure the resident program schedule and master treatment plan (MTP) are executed as planned. Responsibilities include assisting nurses in the psychiatric and physical treatment and care of residents according to facility procedures, engaging with residents in various activities throughout the day, and maintaining therapeutic interactions and appropriate boundaries. This is a Per Diem position, requiring staff to work 3 holidays per calendar year, including either Thanksgiving or Christmas. Universal Health Services, Inc. Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Minimum of 1 year of direct care experience working with adolescents and children in a Residential Treatment Facility, educational or juvenile setting (if a Bachelor's degree is not obtained)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Possess knowledge of therapeutic relationships, therapeutic processes, adolescent growth and development, limit-setting and behavior management

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology or a related field
  • Valid SC Drivers License

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with all members of the residential and clinical treatment team.
  • Assure that the resident program schedule and resident master treatment plan (MTP) are carried out as planned by the Team.
  • Perform various duties assisting nurses in the psychiatric and physical treatment and care of residents in accordance with established methods and procedures of the facility.
  • Interact closely with residents remaining engaged in the various activities and events that residents experience throughout the treatment day.
  • Interact with residents in a therapeutic manner at all times and assist other staff to also maintain appropriate boundaries.
