About The Position

Riverside Community Care offers a valuable opportunity to join a growing, stable, and highly regarded organization, providing human services experience while making a difference in the lives of others. The organization provides person-centered supports for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, autism, or acquired brain injury, helping each person learn daily living skills, build meaningful relationships, and become a valued member of their community. As a Residential Counselor, you will be part of a supportive team, combining support, supervision, coaching, and companionship. Every interaction is rooted in respect and appreciation for each individual’s uniqueness, encouraging residents to identify their strengths, explore new opportunities, and actualize their hopes and dreams. The residences are located in welcoming neighborhood settings, typically housing 3-5 people with private bedrooms and shared living spaces. Residents are encouraged to decorate their rooms and take pride in their home, while staff provide ongoing guidance and support. Employees are available 24/7, with staffing schedules tailored to meet the needs of the individuals served. Every shift offers the chance to build relationships, see progress, and be part of something meaningful.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain residents' physical and emotional health and help them live safely in the community.
  • Foster relationships with housemates, family members, and neighbors.
  • Develop and practice skills that increase independence, confidence, and self-determination.
  • Participate in community activities, work, and volunteer opportunities that reflect residents' goals and interests.
  • Provide support, supervision, coaching, and companionship.
  • Encourage residents to identify their strengths, explore new opportunities, and actualize their hopes and dreams.
