About The Position

Riverside Community Care is seeking a Residential Counselor to join their growing organization. This role offers valuable human services experience while making a difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, autism, or acquired brain injury. The Residential Counselor will help individuals learn daily living skills, build meaningful relationships, and become valued members of their community. The position involves supporting individuals in maintaining their physical and emotional health, fostering relationships, developing independence, and participating in community activities. The role combines support, supervision, coaching, and companionship, with every interaction rooted in respect for each individual’s uniqueness. The Residential Counselor will encourage residents to identify their strengths, explore new opportunities, and actualize their hopes and dreams. The residences are in welcoming neighborhood settings, typically housing 3-5 people with private bedrooms and shared living spaces. Staff provide ongoing guidance and support, and are available 24/7 with schedules tailored to meet individual needs. Every shift offers the chance to build relationships, see progress, and be part of something meaningful.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Valid driver's license required.

  • Previous related experience preferred.
