About The Position

Hawthorne Foundation Inc. serves children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. Our educational, vocational and life skills programs are only a few of the programs available. Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in the Human Services Field preferred.
  • Minimum five years experience with the developmentally disabled population.
  • Knowledge of education, Home and Community Based Services regulations as they related to the educational and residential care of consumers.
  • Knowledge of education/treatment planning.
  • Knowledge of Behavioral principles and technology

Responsibilities

  • Reviews pre-placement ISP’s, psychological, educational, residential, social, and medical assessments and makes recommendations to the Coordinator of Adult Community Programs regarding the appropriateness of placement for meeting a consumer’s needs.
  • Ongoing review of ISP’s to ensure appropriateness of placement, goals and objectives, educational methods, and related services.
  • Reviews Residential planning and programs to ensure compliance with existing regulations and agency philosophy.
  • Conducts reviews to ensure the consumers are served according to ISP goals.
  • Investigates untoward incidents.
  • Investigates alleged violations of consumer’s rights.
  • Develops manuals for new Hawthorne Foundation Residential Programs.
  • Participates in house searches.
  • Initial set-up of all Hawthorne Residential Programs.
  • Supervises all Hawthorne Foundation Residential Programs.
  • Recommends quality of care standards and develops systems to ensure they are met for Hawthorne Foundation Residential Programs.
  • Insures proper oversight of behavior analytical program of training for staff and consumers.
  • Intervenes in “special” consumer cases that require non-routine procedures.
  • Maintains open communications with DDSO and OMRDD with relation to HCBS Waiver programs.
  • Takes responsibility for initial certification of New Programs for Hawthorne Foundation.
  • Assists in the creation and development of consumer housing appropriate to functioning levels and opportunities continuing independence and learning for all consumers in the care of Hawthorne Foundation Inc.
  • On call 24 hours a day/7 days a week.
  • Follows all Hawthorne Foundation policies and procedures.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as necessary to ensure the health, safety, welfare and development of all consumers.
  • Assists in development and administration of budgets and program guidelines for new Hawthorne Foundation Programs.
  • Guarantees that the operation of the Hawthorne Foundation Residential Programs fall within budgetary guidelines.
  • Assists staff and consumers in the development and oversight of personal expenditure plans and personal allowance duties and responsibilities.
