Thompson was founded in 1886 as an orphanage and has grown into an organization operating across the Carolinas, Florida, Tennessee, and Kentucky. Thompson’s continuum of care encompasses three domains: prevention, mental health services, and foster care. All Thompson programs are trauma-informed and evidence-based/evidence-informed with the intention of building resilience in clients (ages 0-18) and their families, both virtually and in person. As a Residential Coach, you will monitor and support residential care staff, facilitate programmatic activities with clients, conduct staff training, maintain communication with leadership, conduct team meetings, ensure high-quality documentation, foster teamwork, demonstrate ethics and emotional intelligence, become a certified trainer in trauma-informed practice models, apply trauma-informed practices, assist with scheduling and shift coverage, ensure adherence to program schedules, manage environmental safety, provide continuous training and coaching to staff, comply with CQI processes, serve as a role model, communicate effectively with internal and external partners, assist in planning events, and be available for on-call responsibilities.
