About The Position

We are looking for recent graduates and experienced direct support workers to join our team! If you are passionate about caring for others and making a difference in the community, we would love to hear from you. The Developmental Disabilities Association (DDA) has been a leader for advocacy and inclusion in BC for families with special needs since 1952, and now we need you. Casual Residential Care Worker (RCW) positions are available in our Vancouver and Richmond group homes, supporting residents’ physical, emotional, social, and recreational needs. We need your skills and experience to help British Columbians with developmental disabilities reach their full potential by supporting their rights and self-determination.

Requirements

Degree or Diploma in an area directly related to supporting people with developmental disabilities, such as Social Services, Human Services, or Education
1-2 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, or related equivalent experience
Valid First Aid/CPR upon start date
Valid Class 5 Driver's License
Willingness to obtain a Class 4 Unrestricted Driver's License
Satisfactory Driver's Abstract
Criminal Record Clearance
TB Test Clearance
Medical clearance
Demonstrated competency in English, written, and oral communication
Eligible to work in Canada
Union membership

Nice To Haves

Experience with, or training in, areas of adaptive communication, positive behaviour support, and community care is an asset
