About The Position

LSS Canyon Hills Center is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic Residential Care & Support Worker to support teens and their families. The role provides residential care to youth ages 10 to 17 who may have mental health, behavioral, substance abuse, or legal issues. It offers an opportunity to build experience and enhance education in mental health or social services. Full-time and part-time positions are available, with AM/PM hours. Pay is $18.00–$20.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Be at least 21 years old.
Willingness to complete agency background checks, including checks related to criminal convictions involving behavior harmful toward children, spousal abuse, and drug or sex crimes.
Maintain a valid driver's license or obtain one with approved driver status.
Meet one of the following: hold at least 60 semester credits and have one year of experience working with children; or have an equivalent combination of education and experience that may be considered.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with youth is preferred.
A bachelor's degree in behavioral or social sciences is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide residential care to youth ages 10 to 17 with mental health, behavioral, substance abuse, and legal issues.
Work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Conduct groups and supervise youth in community settings.
Provide a positive and healthy environment through role modeling.
Ensure child protection policies are followed.
Safeguard residents and staff through appropriate physical intervention when necessary.
Transport residents and uphold health and safety regulations.
