About The Position

LSS Canyon Hills Center seeks a passionate, dedicated, and enthusiastic individual to join our team and make a significant impact in the lives of teens and their families. If you are interested in enhancing your education in the mental health or social services field, this is a great position for you. HOURS: Full-time and Part-time positions available. AM/PM hours.

Requirements

Must have a High School Diploma, or GED.
Be at least 21 years old and willing to complete agency background checks.
Maintain a valid driver’s license or obtain one with approved driver status.
Must successfully complete all required agency background checks, including checks for criminal convictions involving behavior harmful toward children, spousal abuse, and drug or sex crimes.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with youth, is preferred.
Hold a bachelor’s degree in behavioral or social sciences (preferred), OR At least 60 semester credits and one year of experience working with children; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

Provide residential care to youth ages 10yr to 17yr who have a variety of mental health, behavioral, substance abuse, and legal issues.
Work as part of an interdisciplinary team, conduct groups, supervise youth in community settings, and provide a positive and healthy environment through role modeling.
Ensure child protection policies are followed.
Safeguard residents and staff through appropriate physical intervention if necessary.
Transport residents and uphold health and safety regulations.
