About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Residential Site Manager, Residential Care Specialist provides services to consumers with a MH, SA, or Dual Diagnosis in a 24/7 community based residential program. Provide skills training and education on daily living skills such as budgeting, performing household chores, personal hygiene, social skills, and meal preparation. Provide case management services such as linking to community resources. Assist with transportation and observe consumers take medications as prescribed. Monitor and document consumer progress in treatment using designated format and within established time frames. Computer knowledge and extensive documentation is required. Incumbent must be able to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Valid GA driver’s license with less than 5 points.
  • CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain CPR Certification.
  • Computer knowledge and extensive documentation is required.
  • Must be physically and emotionally fit to work in a stress-filled environment to meet deadlines and deal with routine and crisis situations.
  • May have extended periods of sitting, walking, and standing.
  • Requires varying hours of duty to provide monitoring, educational and/or crisis handling, as well as travel to off campus locations in BHSGA or personal vehicle.
