Residential Property Appraisal Deputy – Fieldwork Location: Allen County, INDepartment: Assessment DivisionSchedule: 37.5 hours/week (Monday–Friday), occasional overtime Reports to: Senior Assessment Team Leader – Fieldwork Do you enjoy working independently, being outside, and using technology? Are you the kind of person who notices details others miss? We're looking for a Residential Appraisal Deputy to help make sure homes and agricultural properties in Allen County are assessed fairly and accurately. This is a field-based role with time in the office too. You’ll be visiting neighborhoods, measuring homes and structures, collecting data, and entering it into our specialized software. The work you do helps ensure a fair and balanced property tax system for everyone in our community. A Day in the Life Visit residential and agricultural properties for inspections Measure buildings and yard structures to ensure accurate records Compare what you see on-site with what’s in the system – and make updates Use computer systems like CAMA and GIS mapping tools Analyze satellite images to spot changes in property features Explain assessments and answer questions from homeowners and property owners Help ensure accuracy through data audits and team collaboration
