About The Position

This is a field-based role with time in the office too. You’ll be visiting neighborhoods, measuring homes and structures, collecting data, and entering it into our specialized software. The work you do helps ensure a fair and balanced property tax system for everyone in our community. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ year of experience in customer service, sales, data entry, or similar
  • Willingness and ability to earn your Indiana Level II Assessor-Appraiser certification within 6 months (we help with this!)
  • Commitment to earning Level III within 18 months after Level II
  • Solid computer skills – Microsoft Office, email, and learning specialized software
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with measuring or evaluating property is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Visit residential and agricultural properties for inspections
  • Measure buildings and yard structures to ensure accurate records
  • Compare what you see on-site with what’s in the system – and make updates
  • Use computer systems like CAMA and GIS mapping tools
  • Analyze satellite images to spot changes in property features
  • Explain assessments and answer questions from homeowners and property owners
  • Help ensure accuracy through data audits and team collaboration
