About The Position
Roots to Recovery (R2R) is an intermediate, 24/7 residential treatment program for men needing a structured environment to build upon their recovery skills. Located in Willimantic, R2R has 14 beds and offers a maximum 90-day intermediate (3.5) residential substance abuse treatment. Clients are referred from intensive treatment programs, emergency room staff, and/or detox programs. The program accepts clients with co-occurring disorders and those on Methadone maintenance. Clients are not permitted to work during their stay but can begin job searching three weeks before program completion.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in Human Services with responsible work history.
- Valid driver’s license required with good driving record.
- CPR & First Aid Certification required OR must obtain within 90 days of employment.
Responsibilities
- Maintains physical environment and program standards to CHR, DMHAS, JCAHO and any other licensing standard.
- Monitors medications of all residents in accordance with the Adult residential medication policy and procedure.
- Effectively utilizes appropriate communication methods/tools to transfer information to other staff regarding the day’s events.
- Teaches and assists all residents in areas of rehab including: nutrition and healthy living, meal preparation, hygiene, laundry, banking and budgeting, and basic home care skills.
- Assists/Manages administrative functions and tasks at the direction of the supervisor.
- Prepares and facilitates educational and skill building groups and one to one interventions as directed by the treatment plan.
- Collaborates and coordinates care with providers and families as needed.
- Assists residents in addressing medical and psychiatric needs.
- Maintains documentation in compliance with agency and program standards.
- Participates in staff meetings, supervision, trainings and other meetings as assigned.
- Additional duties as required.
