About The Position

Selah Freedom is a faith-based organization guided by Biblical principles, dedicated to ending human trafficking. Headquartered in Sarasota, FL, they offer safe housing, outreach, teen prevention, and national awareness and training programs. The Residential Advocate role is crucial in supporting survivors of sex trafficking within the residential program. This position involves providing emotional support, ensuring stability, and assisting survivors in accessing essential services such as medical care, housing, and mental health support. The role also includes providing safe transportation and maintaining detailed documentation of services rendered.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Criminology, or a related behavioral science (lived or work experience will be considered in lieu of education).
Experience in trauma-informed environments and/or working with sex trafficking survivors.
Cross-cultural competence and the ability to meet survivors where they are.
Commitment to ongoing education in trauma, substance abuse, and survivor support.
A clean driving record.
Willingness to travel locally.

Responsibilities

Work one-on-one with survivors of sex trafficking in the residential program.
Offer emotional support and ensure stability for survivors.
Help survivors navigate key services like medical care, housing, and mental health.
Provide safe transportation to appointments, work, and community resources.
Keep thorough documentation of services provided.
Facilitate assessments and treatment planning for survivors.
Support access to legal, medical, housing, and counseling services.
Document services in the secure database.
Attend all required meetings and trainings.
Be available for flexible shifts, including weekends, overnights, and holidays.
