As a Resident Support Officer, you will play an important role in ensuring the safety, security and well-being of residents while supporting their success in a clean, sober and respectful community environment. This position also offers valuable training and certification opportunities, including Security 5 Certification, Crisis Prevention and Intervention Certification, and Narcan Certification—equipping you with the tools to protect, support, and make a lasting impact in the lives of others.

Requirements

Dedication to helping others
High School Diploma or equivalent
Candidate must be at least 18 years of age
Excellent communication skills
General knowledge in Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

Experience working with individuals with mental and physical health diagnoses or substance abuse preferred

Responsibilities

Ensure the safety, security and well-being of all residents, visitors, YMCA personnel, the building and premises
Conduct regular patrols in assigned areas and take appropriate action to respond to incidents
Maintain a visible presence to ensure adherence to YMCA rules and building standards
Write detailed reports on incidents or occurrences affecting normal operations
Maintain accurate documentation and records for daily program operations
Handle all sensitive information confidentially and professionally
Foster an environment that supports clean and sober living environment for all program participants
Mediate conflicts between residents using de-escalation techniques
