About The Position

Schochet is seeking a Resident Services Coordinator to join our team at Shepherd Park in Hartford, CT. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults living in affordable housing by connecting them to services, building community partnerships, and creating engaging programs. As part of Schochet's commitment to providing enriched housing and strong resident support services, this position is one of two full-time Resident Services Coordinators at Shepherd Park. The RSC is a key member of the Property Management team, collaborating with property staff, residents, volunteers, and community partners.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in Spanish required.
  • Pre-employment background check & drug test required.

Nice To Haves

  • A degree in Social Work or a related field, or 3-4 years of professional experience, is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Connecting residents to services, resources, and support through assessments, education, referrals, and ongoing monitoring.
  • Assisting residents with topics such as resources for aging in place, rental assistance, benefits and entitlements, food assistance, and mental health.
  • Establishing onsite wellness programs and events using community partnerships and a programming budget.
  • Organizing programs and events that prevent isolation, build community, and cover health topics, general wellbeing, fraud prevention, and computer skills.
  • Advocating, organizing, and problem-solving to achieve positive outcomes for residents.
  • Establishing relationships with community agencies and service providers to offer direct services to residents.
