About The Position

Schochet is seeking a Resident Services Coordinator for two apartment communities in Rhode Island, focusing on serving Seniors and Families in affordable/low-income housing. This role involves working one-on-one with residents to identify needs and coordinate services, developing relationships with community partners to bring in programs and resources, and planning events that build community and promote well-being. The position is for independent living apartment communities located in North Kingstown and Newport, Rhode Island.

Requirements

  • BS in Social Work or related field required.
  • Experience with senior citizens & people with disabilities is required.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and own transportation to travel between properties, attend meetings and conferences when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Works as a team alongside resident services staff, property management team, residents, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Connects residents to services through assessments, intake, and referrals to community service providers.
  • Provides support for issues including home management, financial assistance, mental health, public benefits, and food assistance.
  • Follows up on referrals from other staff regarding resident issues and concerns, focusing on challenges related to aging in place, housing support, conflict resolution, communication, and emergency support.
  • Establishes on-site wellness programs and events through relationships with community partners and/or by utilizing the RSC programming budget.
  • Organizes events ranging from celebrations to prevent isolation and build community, to lectures on health and well-being, such as fraud prevention or computer classes.
