About The Position

Lift Truck Center, Inc., the authorized dealer for Toyota, a leading brand of lift trucks, is growing and searching for industrial equipment field service technicians that are looking for and will contribute to a positive culture. The role involves repairing and performing Planned Maintenance on forklifts, industrial sweeper/scrubbers, scissor lifts, personnel carriers, and other types of industrial equipment at customer locations. Technicians will work independently in a safe, field environment without direct supervision, but with frequent communication with the Service Dispatcher. They will receive dispatch instructions, travel to customer locations, evaluate and diagnose equipment issues, complete repairs or order necessary parts, communicate status to the customer, and enter repair details on an electronic work order.

Requirements

  • Prior Military, Votech, experience working on automotive, industrial, construction or agricultural equipment is preferred.
  • Ability to identify complex mechanical problems and review related service information to develop a corrective action plan to complete the repair.
  • Able to occasionally lift (75 pounds) and environmentally work both inside and outside.
  • Must be able to safely operate lift trucks and other types of industrial equipment.
  • Able to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers (verbally and in writing).
  • Capable of utilizing a laptop or tablet for completing work orders & checklists, and diagnostic troubleshooting.
  • Basic computer knowledge for email and internet-based E-learning portal and accessing service information.
  • Technician must have basic tools required to complete repairs.
  • Qualified applicants must be able to pass a drug and criminal background check and have a driving record that meets the requirements of our insurance provider.
  • The hiring process also includes a Mechanical Aptitude and Predictive Index assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and perform Planned Maintenance on forklifts, industrial sweeper/scrubbers, scissor lifts and personnel carriers and other types of industrial equipment at customer locations.
  • Working independently in a safe, field environment without direct supervision, but with frequent communication with the Service Dispatcher.
  • Receive dispatch instruction from Lift Truck Center branch, travel to customer location, evaluate and diagnose, complete repair or order necessary parts, communicate status to customer and enter repair details associated with the repair on an electronic work order.
  • Identify complex mechanical problems and review related service information to develop a corrective action plan to complete the repair.
  • Safely operate lift trucks and other types of industrial equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and coworkers (verbally and in writing).
  • Utilize a laptop or tablet for completing work orders & checklists, and diagnostic troubleshooting.
  • Manage the parts inventory assigned to your service vehicle.
