About The Position

The Resident Service Engineer (RSE) is a dedicated on-site technical expert responsible for supporting Schneider Electric’s Foxboro Distributed Control System (DCS) and Triconex Safety Instrumented System (SIS). This role includes hands-on support, system optimization, process simulation/emulation, cybersecurity and patch management to ensure the safety, reliability, and compliance of critical industrial automation systems.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Instrumentation, or related field
  • 5+ years in industrial automation or control systems support.
  • Experience with Foxboro DCS, Triconex SIS, and simulation tools.
  • Exposure to cybersecurity practices in industrial environments.
  • Proficiency in control system architecture, loop tuning, and safety diagnostics.
  • Familiarity with simulation platforms like SimSci, TriStation Emulator.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles, patch management, and network security.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols (Modbus, OPC, Ethernet/IP).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a customer facing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Schneider Electric certifications in Foxboro and/or Triconex platforms.
  • Experience with cybersecurity frameworks (ISA/IEC 62443, NIST).
  • Experience in pulp & paper and/or power generation industries.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily on-site support for Foxboro DCS and Triconex SIS systems.
  • Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance to ensure system uptime and performance.
  • Develop and maintain simulation environments for testing, training, and validation.
  • Support FAT/SAT and operator training using emulated systems.
  • Implement and maintain cybersecurity best practices in accordance with Schneider Electric and customer policies.
  • Monitor system vulnerabilities and coordinate the deployment of security patches and updates.
  • Maintain compliance with industry standards such as ISA/IEC 62443, NIST, and customer-specific cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Collaborate with IT/OT teams to ensure secure network configurations and access controls.
  • Document and report cybersecurity incidents, patching activities, and risk mitigation measures.
  • Assist with system upgrades, migrations, and expansions.
  • Support commissioning and integration of new control and safety systems.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison for the customer.
  • Provide training and guidance on system operation, simulation tools, and cybersecurity awareness.
  • Maintain detailed service logs, simulation configurations, patch records and cybersecurity documentation.
  • Provide regular performance and compliance reports to both the customer and Schneider Electric service management.
