The primary responsibilities of resident/intern trainees are to provide competent, compassionate patient care; work effectively as a member of the health care team; and meet the educational goals of his or her specific program. Resident/interns are also expected to teach and mentor junior resident/interns and medical students, consistently act with integrity and honesty, function as an effective team member, effectively manage conflict, develop life-long learning skills, attend all required educational conferences and participate in the planning of conferences per each program's requirements, provide data on their educational experience to their program director, provide evaluations of their teachers and service rotations, carry out administrative responsibilities, such as dictation of discharge summaries, in a timely manner, and participate in medical center and departmental committees.
