About The Position

This position is responsible for monitoring the activity of residents on an assigned shift, ensuring safety, security, and compliance with house rules. The role involves maintaining accurate records and logs, ensuring the housing facility is kept neat and orderly, and assisting with resident needs and emergencies.

Requirements

Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write and communicate the English language.
Ability to respond to emergency situations quickly and calmly while maintaining control and initiating the proper corrective action.
Ability to perform combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.
Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.
High School diploma or G.E.D.
One year experience performing security or social service work preferred, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

Completes all necessary intake paperwork and accurately keypunches the information into HMIS database system.
Distributes towels, linens, and personal hygiene items as needed.
Monitors the activities of the residents ensuring safety and compliance with house rules; checks the security of all windows and doors; monitors cameras and makes periodic rounds of entire facility; records any unique situations occurring on assigned shift.
Assist with kitchen staff during meal time, to ensure families are served during the scheduled mealtime.
Responds to emergencies in a calm manner and initiates appropriate corrective action in accordance with established policies and procedures, to instruct and develop and not in an effort to punish.
Collects and washes linens once a family has moved out and prepares room for the next occupants.
