About The Position

This position is responsible for accepting and processing residents into HMIS (Homeless Management Information System) for overnight stays, monitoring resident activity to ensure safety, security, and compliance with behavioral expectations, maintaining accurate records and logs, and ensuring the lodge/shelter is kept neat and orderly.

Requirements

Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
Ability to respond to emergency situations quickly and calmly while maintaining control and initiating the proper corrective action.
Ability to perform combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.
Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time.
High school diploma or G.E.D.
One year experience performing security or social work is preferred OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Requires a level 2 background screening.

Responsibilities

Accepts and processes residents into HMIS for overnight stays.
Monitors resident activity to ensure safety, security, and compliance with behavioral expectations.
Maintains accurate and complete records and logs.
Ensures the lodge/shelter is maintained in a neat and proper order.
Checks clients in to the lodge/shelter.
Prepares and monitors client records using HMIS.
Prepares roster daily and maintains residents’ property records.
Ensures all rooms are in proper order before resident arrival.
Checks fire equipment and ensures proper working order.
Checks the security of all windows and doors.
Monitors cameras and makes periodic rounds of the entire facility.
Records any unique situations occurring on the assigned shift.
