About The Position

This position is responsible for accepting and processing residents staying in the lodge/shelter overnight, receiving and receipting fees, monitoring resident activity to ensure safety, security, and compliance with house rules, maintaining accurate records and logs, and ensuring the lodge/shelter is kept neat and orderly. The role involves ensuring rooms are ready before resident arrival, checking fire equipment, distributing supplies, securing and distributing client medications, processing rent payments, monitoring residents for safety and rule compliance, checking security of windows and doors, monitoring cameras, making rounds, and recording shift events. The work environment is a lodge/shelter facility with minimal discomforts from weather, noise, dust, or dirt.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • One year experience performing security or social service work preferred, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Ability to meet attendance requirements
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations quickly and calmly while maintaining control and initiating the proper corrective action
  • Ability to perform combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.
  • Requires a level 2 background screening.

Responsibilities

  • Accepts and processes residents staying in lodge/shelter overnight
  • Receives and receipts fees received from residents
  • Monitors the activity of residents on an assigned shift ensuring safety, security and compliance to house rules
  • Maintains accurate and complete records and logs containing pertinent information
  • Ensures that lodge/shelter is maintained in a neat and proper order
  • Ensures that all rooms are in proper order before arrival of residents
  • Checks fire equipment and ensures proper working order
  • Distributes towels, linens, and personal hygiene items
  • Secures and distributes client medications as required
  • Receives receipts and processes payments for rent and obtains clients signature on forms as well as program rules and regulations
  • Monitors the activities of the program residents ensuring safety and compliance with house rules
  • Checks the security of all windows and doors
  • Monitors cameras and makes periodic rounds of entire facility
  • Records any unique situations occurring on assigned shift
