About The Position

Dismas Charities is a leading not-for-profit provider specializing in community-based adult re-entry programs. We offer meaningful work, an indoor work environment, competitive pay, and benefits. This entry-level residential re-entry position in social services offers a competitive wage of $15.50 per hour. We also provide dental and vision benefits for all part-time and relief employees. The Resident Monitor is responsible for overseeing the custody, security, control, and maintenance of the facility and its residents. Due to contractual obligations, applicants must identify as female for this position. The schedule is part-time, approximately 24 hours per week, with variable shifts as needed: Friday and Saturday from 11:30 PM to 7:30 AM, and Sunday from 3:30 PM to 11:30 PM.

Requirements

  • Possess a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with individuals and groups in both routine and emergencies.
  • One year of paid work experience.
  • Must identify as female due to contractual obligations.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors residents by observing, documenting, and ensuring accountability within the facility and in the community, enforcing all rules, responsibilities, and restrictions.
  • Provides control and documentation of transactions for money, subsistence, medications, first-aid supplies, mail, visitors, accountability checks, and telephone calls.
  • Assists Counselors with resident programming, which may include installing electronic monitoring equipment, visiting residents at home and work, and conducting alcohol and urine surveillance testing.
  • Conducts and documents scheduled internal and external inspections of the premises to maintain resident health, safety, and accountability.
  • Ensures physical plant safety and sanitation standards are maintained.
  • Maintains working knowledge and follows all procedures and policies outlined in the Statement of Work, Physical Plant, and Operations Manuals.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in knowledge and operations of emergency drills, life safety, facility sanitation, escapes, and unusual occurrence procedures.
  • Works necessary hours to staff the center in the event of a work stoppage and accepts reassigned shifts without advanced notice.
  • Attends and participates in all required appointments and meetings, some of which may be off-site.
  • Responsible for general housekeeping of the center, including dusting, polishing, vacuuming, and emptying trash.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Director.
