About The Position

Dematic Corporation is now hiring for a Regional Resident Maintenance Technician. Under the direction of the Senior Field Service Manager, this position provides service and repair as well as service and maintenance training for installed Dematic systems and equipment. This position would be for the area of Montreal, Quebec. Corrective maintenance. Scheduled repairs. Performs emergency repairs. Practicing safe work habits and abiding by safety rules in accordance with customer and Dematic policies. Logging all service work performed, recording downtime during repair and accounting for equipment service requests. Local travel up to 20%

Requirements

  • Technologist/technician in electrical, mechatronics program, or equivalent experience.
  • Two years (minimum) experience in resolving problems related to electromechanical and/or mechanical equipment.
  • Successful candidate must have some working experience with material handling equipment.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, Allen Bradley and Siemens.
  • Consults with site manager and other Dematic engineering regarding maintenance problems, design deficiencies, and operational problems.

Nice To Haves

  • Trouble shooting of PLC’s is helpful.
  • Experience with AMR or Robotics is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides service and repair for installed Dematic systems and equipment.
  • Provides service and maintenance training for installed Dematic systems and equipment.
  • Write concise, clear, and complete reports in the time frame required according to Dematic procedures.
  • Maintain customer goodwill toward Dematic.
  • Ensure that Dematic systems have the greatest availability possible for Customer use and to ensure that Customers are satisfied with their Dematic system and equipment.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance.
  • Perform corrective maintenance.
  • Perform scheduled repairs.
  • Perform emergency repairs.
  • Practice safe work habits and abide by safety rules in accordance with customer and Dematic policies.
  • Log all service work performed, record downtime during repair and account for equipment service requests.
  • Direct technical and operational support for the design, development, installation, and maintenance of complex equipment and systems at customer sites.
  • Conduct complex studies to develop design or installation plans.
  • Conduct customer training for the maintenance and adjustment of equipment.
  • Write and submit reports for all job tasks.
  • Direct the maintenance of highly complex tools, test equipment, calibration equipment, etc.
  • May develop planning and estimation of labor category needs, material costs, transportation costs, and hourly costs to complete highly complex proposals.
  • Review execution plans, installation schematics, and plans and provide continuous consultation throughout the mandate.
  • Perform advanced work for the professional field.
  • Apply advanced skills to autonomously solve complex problems that are not part of existing procedures or practices.
  • Demonstrate a high level of critical thinking to successfully solve high-impact, complex, and/or cross-functional problems.
  • Diagnose and implement corrective action to problems with Dematic and other equipment.
