About The Position

Pape’ Material Handling, Inc. is hiring a Resident Field Technician/Mechanic to cover the Brookings, Oregon and Crescent City, California area. The technician works on material handling equipment at customer locations to keep equipment operating at peak performance and maximize uptime. The role involves traveling throughout the area in a company service vehicle, performing repairs and maintenance, and interacting with customers. Pape’ provides training, mentoring, and continued learning, along with competitive compensation and benefits.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience diagnosing and repairing equipment, preferably in the material handling industry.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Self-motivation and ability to work under little or no supervision.
• Excellent communication and customer relation skills.
• Driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Must provide own tools.
• Must reside in the assigned area of the region.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair equipment at customer locations.
• Help ensure customer equipment runs in peak form and maximizes uptime.
• Travel throughout the assigned area in a Pape’ service vehicle.
• Interact with customers and complete work they can rely on.
