About The Position

As a Resident Engineer, you will serve as the on-site technical authority and the primary liaison between the manufacturing facility and product engineering. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that production processes, quality standards, and technical specifications are strictly adhered to. You will be responsible for resolving technical issues, optimizing manufacturing processes, and minimizing downtime through both proactive and reactive support on the factory floor. This includes ensuring quality control and compliance by conducting on-site inspections of components and assemblies to verify adherence to drawings, engineering specifications, and quality standards. You will also lead troubleshooting efforts to resolve design or machine issues that cause production downtime and actively facilitate communication between suppliers, manufacturing, and product engineering to report issues and ensure swift resolutions. Additionally, you will provide post-sales technical support to maintain high-quality standards and ensure customer satisfaction. This position is based at our Lebanon, Missouri facility.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in an Engineering or other technical field, plus at least 7 years of related experience.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Industrial Engineering plus at least 5 years of related experience.
  • Experience in high volume manufacturing facility.
  • Experience with high volume rotating equipment.
  • Minitab or other statistical software.
  • Knowledge and experience with DMAIC problem solving methodology.
  • Lean or Six-sigma knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and coordinating efforts among cross functional teams to complete projects
  • Product engineering support, including managing pilot parts, pilot runs and pilot data and coordinating ECN status to operations and writing deviations if required.
  • Support for plant operations, including supporting production and manufacturing as well as in plant quality and engineering needs.
  • Leading troubleshooting activities to solve customer, plant or engineering problems.
  • Contributing to quality improvement projects.
  • Brainstorming and leading cost improvement projects.
  • Analyze and present data as needed.
  • Demonstrate understanding of functional role.
