About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Resident Engineer with 10+ years of experience to join their construction management team on construction projects in the NYC and Lower Hudson Valley Region. The Senior Resident Engineer will utilize their experience and technical knowledge of municipal infrastructure, water and sewer infrastructure facilities, and water and wastewater treatment facilities to successfully execute and manage capital improvement projects.

Requirements

  • 10 years’ Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer experience.
  • BS in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent work experience.
  • Professional Engineer license in New York.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as a Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer for large capital improvement projects.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing a safe and healthful workplace.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Proficiency with MS Project and the MS Office Suite (particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to manage personnel and remain responsive to corporate requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day construction oversight/Resident Engineering Inspection efforts.
  • Act as a liaison to design staff for response to Contractor RFIs and review of shop drawings.
  • Review construction plans, specifications, and project changes for constructability and practicality.
  • Manage the Construction Management field office staff responsible for record keeping, processing of periodic payments, drafting of field change orders, negotiation of change orders, general correspondence, compiling and drafting of required reports and deliverables.
  • Ensure delivery of daily inspection reports in accordance with clients’ requirements.
  • Manage staff safety, regulatory compliance, permit compliance, and coordination with regulatory agencies.
  • Monitor contractor performance, schedule compliance, overall responsiveness, and effectiveness.
  • Exert influence to ensure that project goals are staying on target regarding cost, schedule, quality, etc.
  • Manage the contractor payment process and recommend appropriate adjustments as necessary based on work completed.
