Accenture Infrastructure & Capital Projects is seeking a Resident Engineer (Highway) to make an impact on how the world gets built. Requirements
- Must be a licensed Professional Civil Engineer in the State of California.
- Minimum 1 construction highway project for or on Caltrans.
- Minimum 8 years’ experience conducting roadway and highway construction inspection in major public works projects.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with stress analysis, structural mechanics, and strength of materials.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with physical characteristics and properties of various roadway and bridge construction materials including concrete and steel.

- Ability to direct the efforts of subordinate inspectors.
- Expertise in toll road projects including tolling systems (e.g., overhead gantries, cameras, in-pavement vehicle detection loops, etc.).
- Experience working with Caltrans District 4 Highway.
Responsibilities
- Provide inspection and quality assurance on highway and roadway construction projects.
- Determine if completed work follows plans and specifications.
- Coordinate work with the contractor and various public utilities agencies.
- Maintain records and reports related to the project.
- Coordinate directly with the general contractor and negotiate change orders.
- Assist in inspections to assure compliance with contract plans, specifications, and special provisions on all phases of structural construction such as bridges, foundations, walls, falsework, shoring, and drainage structures.
- Make or support grade, alignment, quantity, falsework, and shoring calculations.
- Assist in the preparation of contract change orders, contract estimates, progress pay estimates, and other documents or reports required for the project.
- Coordinate the sampling and testing of construction materials to monitor compliance with contract specifications.
- Monitor and track contractor progress, prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required.
- Coordinate with the project team, as well as the Construction Staking and Material Testing CMCs.
