About The Position

The Train Control Upgrade Project (TCUP) is a significant capital project for the SFMTA, aiming to modernize the Muni Metro rail system by replacing the existing Automatic Train Control System (ATCS) with a new Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) system. This upgrade extends beyond the subway to the surface portions of Muni Metro, unifying the entire rail network under a single, advanced system. With a substantial $700 million budget and a phased implementation plan, TCUP is set to enhance safety, efficiency, and reliability for San Francisco's public transit. This role offers an opportunity to be part of a cutting-edge urban rail technology initiative with a targeted completion date of 2032.
