The Resident Chaplain will perform daily spiritual care visitation, ensuring appropriate response and follow-up on all referrals from assigned clinical nursing areas. This role provides spiritual care and support to patients, families, and teammates of all cultural and spiritual backgrounds, without proselytizing. The Chaplain will support faith group leaders visiting their members who are patients, facilitate Spiritual Care Groups in collaboration with the Health Care Team, and maintain spiritual care statistics of daily activities, completing charting for spiritual care interactions. The position requires maintaining a responsible relationship with the resident's endorsing denomination and engaging in necessary activities for endorsement. The Resident Chaplain will take initiative to maintain active and regular supervisory meetings with the CPE Supervisor, regularly reporting professional activities. They will work in groups and team meetings as part of the team delivery of care on clinical nursing areas and remain in compliance with the Standards and guidelines set forth in the Clinical Pastoral Education Student Handbook. Attendance at regular peer group meetings and educational presentations as required by the CPE Faculty is also expected.
