About The Position

The Resident Care Associate provides essential care to elders, focusing on personal needs, therapeutic programming, safety, and emotional support. This role emphasizes maintaining the dignity, independence, choice, and individuality of each resident. The associate delivers services as outlined in each resident's approved service plan, contributing to the community's mission and values. Key responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, monitoring resident well-being, documenting services, and engaging residents in meaningful interactions and programming.

Requirements

  • Ability to use computer for documenting services provided.
  • Fluent in the ability to communicate in the English language, both oral and written.
  • Completed the course for certified nursing assistant or have equivalent training or experience as required by State Regulation.
  • CPR and First Aide training as mandated by the State employed.
  • Current license/certification as required by State Regulation.
  • Demonstrates computer literacy and familiarity with office software, including but not limited to word processing or demonstrate the ability to learn data input.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience providing direct care or the equivalent in training.
  • Experience in caring for seniors with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of Dementia is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living.
  • Represent and interact positively with potential residents, family members, and professionals to grow community occupancy.
  • Complete community and State orientation training programs.
  • Assist residents with medications according to State Regulation and LCB Policies, making required record entries and notifications.
  • Actively engage residents in meaningful interactions and experiences, providing assistance and encouragement for independence in activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, dining, mobility).
  • Take initiative in engaging in group and individual engagement.
  • Monitor for changes in resident needs, preferences, and health status, reporting any noticed changes immediately to the RN or designee.
  • Assist Residents with clothing and laundry needs as per the service plan.
  • Assist Residents in going to bed at night, when necessary.
  • Assist Residents with keeping their units neat, clean, and orderly.
  • Answer emergency calls and attend to Residents' needs promptly.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled on-going in-service training programs and specialized staff training programs as required.
  • Assist with escorting residents to meals and engagement as needed or directed.
  • Document scheduled and unscheduled services provided, including incidents, behaviors, and out-of-the-ordinary events, and residents' refusal of services.
  • Input information into the community computer tracking system regarding services provided to residents.
  • Conduct and facilitate programming, including therapeutic groups and individual interaction, that offer cognitive stimulation, socialization, physical activity, and spiritual connection.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
