About The Position

The Resident Care Associate is responsible for meeting the needs of elders, including personal care, therapeutic programming, safety, and emotional support, while upholding their dignity, independence, choice, and individuality. This role involves delivering services as outlined in each resident's approved service plan. The associate will promote the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living, actively participate in growing community occupancy by representing the community positively, and complete required orientation and training programs. Key duties include assisting residents with medications, engaging them in meaningful interactions and activities of daily living, monitoring for changes in their needs and health status, assisting with clothing, laundry, and bedtime routines, and maintaining the neatness of resident units. The associate will respond promptly to emergency calls, participate in ongoing in-service training, escort residents to meals and activities, and document all services provided, including incidents and behaviors, using the community's computer tracking system. They will also conduct and facilitate programming that offers cognitive stimulation, socialization, physical activity, and spiritual connection. Requirements

  • Ability to use computer for documenting services provided.
  • Fluent in the ability to communicate in the English language, both oral and written.
  • Must have completed the course for certified nursing assistant or have equivalent training or experience as required by State Regulation.
  • CPR and First Aide training as mandated by the State employed.
  • Current license/certification as required by State Regulation.
  • Demonstrates computer literacy and familiarity with office software, including but not limited to word processing or demonstrate the ability to learn data input.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience providing direct care or the equivalent in training.
  • Experience in caring for seniors with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of Dementia.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living.
  • Represent and interact positively with potential residents, family members, and professionals to grow community occupancy.
  • Complete community and State orientation training programs.
  • Assist residents with medications according to State Regulation and LCB Policies, making required record entries and notifications.
  • Actively engage residents in meaningful interactions and experiences.
  • Provide assistance, encouragement, and restorative interventions for residents' activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, dining, mobility).
  • Take initiative in engaging in group and individual engagement.
  • Monitor for changes in resident needs, preferences, and health status and report/document them immediately to the RN or designee.
  • Assist Residents with clothing and laundry needs as per the service plan.
  • Assist Residents in going to bed at night, when necessary.
  • Assist Residents with keeping their units neat, clean, and orderly.
  • Answer emergency calls and attend to Residents' needs promptly.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled on-going in-service training programs.
  • Participate in specialized staff training programs and mandatory education requirements dictated by State Regulation upon request.
  • Assist with escorting residents to meals and engagement as needed or directed.
  • Document scheduled and unscheduled services provided, including incidents, behaviors, out-of-the-ordinary events, and resident refusal of services.
  • Input information into the community computer tracking system regarding services provided to residents.
  • Conduct and facilitate programming, including therapeutic groups and individual interaction, that offer cognitive stimulation, socialization, physical activity, and spiritual connection.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
