About The Position

Baptist Retirement Community is seeking a Resident Care Assistant to provide routine personal care and support activities of daily living for residents in their homes. The role is committed to meeting or exceeding Buckner’s quality, service, and hospitality standards while supporting residents’ safety, dignity, privacy, and independence. This is an onsite, full-time night position in San Angelo, Texas.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of one year of related experience.
Ability to drive assigned vehicle(s) or a personal vehicle with an appropriate state license and in compliance with applicable laws.
Must provide proof of liability insurance and be eligible for coverage under BMM/Buckner’s insurance policy.
Must be at least 21 years old to drive on behalf of BMM/Buckner.

Responsibilities

Provide personal assistance in the home setting with activities of daily living.
Provide or assist with oral and dental care, bathing, grooming, toileting, and showering while protecting clients’ privacy and safety and encouraging independence.
Assist clients with simple range-of-motion or other directed exercises and ambulate them according to their endurance level.
Assist with meal preparation, encourage independence, observe appetite, and offer dietary-planning suggestions.
Respect clients’ rights by knocking before entering rooms, addressing clients appropriately, and treating them with kindness, dignity, and respect.
Encourage clients to make their own decisions when appropriate to promote independence.
Respect the property of the facility, employees, clients, and guests.
Immediately report grievances and complaints made by clients.
Comply with universal precautions policy at all times.
Perform routine housekeeping duties for clients.
Assist clients to and from scheduled activities of choice and encourage participation.
