About The Position
The Resident Care Assistant supports residents with activities of daily living, medication reminders, and social and spiritual pursuits to the best of their abilities. The role promotes residents’ dignity, independence, self-determination, privacy, choice, and rights. The assistant also observes and communicates changes in residents’ physical or cognitive condition, helps with leisure activities, and provides dining and housekeeping support as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to show compassion and empathy toward residents and associates.
Nice To Haves
- 1–2 or more years of caregiving experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, and provide medication reminders.
- Identify residents’ physical and cognitive changes and make appropriate follow-up decisions, documentation, and communication to appropriate associates.
- Assist residents with leisure-time programming, including escorting them to and from activities.
- Assist with dining services and general housekeeping duties as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and procedures and any updates.
