Resident Care Assistant
About The Position
Fairmount Homes is seeking compassionate and dependable individuals to join our team as Resident Care Assistants (RCAs). This is an excellent opportunity for students, those exploring a healthcare career, or anyone who enjoys helping others and building meaningful relationships with older adults. Located on a beautiful 70+ acre campus in rural Ephrata, Pennsylvania, Fairmount Homes is a faith-based Continuing Care Retirement Community founded on Christ's love and Mennonite values. Our mission is simple: to enrich the lives of those we serve. As an RCA, you'll play an important role in helping residents feel safe, comfortable, valued, and at home.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- A caring, patient, and positive attitude
- Dependable attendance and strong work habits
- Desire to serve older adults with compassion and respect
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Willingness to learn and follow Fairmount policies and procedures
- Commitment to supporting Fairmount's mission and core values
Responsibilities
- Assisting residents with personal care needs such as eating, grooming, and mobility
- Preparing and serving meals and snacks while monitoring intake as directed
- Helping maintain clean, organized, and welcoming resident spaces
- Providing companionship through conversation, encouragement, and participation in activities
- Supporting resident safety and responding promptly to resident needs
- Transporting residents to activities, chapel services, or appointments within the community
- Building positive relationships with residents, families, and team members
- Helping ensure each resident feels respected, cared for, and valued
