About The Position

Aspire Rural Health System is hiring a Resident Care Aide for its Assisted Living department at The Heartlands in Marlette, Michigan. The role is casual and works days. The aide helps provide resident care and support in a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic community environment, with particular attention to residents’ needs and privacy.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current CPR and First Aid Certificate.
• Genuine desire to assist older adults with dementia.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working with older adults is desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident care, monitor and assess residents’ medical conditions, and report changes to the resident care manager.
• Develop and maintain open relationships with residents through regular interaction, encouragement, and support.
• Serve meals, snacks, and beverages, and assist residents with eating when needed.
• Perform housekeeping duties within the community.
• Assist residents in organized activities.
• Help maintain resident records through regular documentation.
• Demonstrate sensitivity to residents’ comfort and privacy and maintain confidentiality.
• Maintain knowledge of the needs of older adults with dementia, appropriate lifting and transferring techniques, infection control, disease prevention, and emergency preparedness.
• Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for residents and their families.
